We will remove winter debris, branches, and litter from your lawn and flowerbeds, rake and de-thatch your lawn, sweep your driveways, patios and walkways, and leave your property looking well maintained.
LAWN CUTTING
There’s nothing quite like coming home to the smell of freshly cut grass after a busy day. Horticare Landscaping provides you with weekly lawn cutting services starting the first week of May and ending the last week of September. This will include; professional grass cutting and trimming of lawn edges, and removal of all clippings and debris from driveways, patios, and walkways. During exceptionally dry periods, lawn cutting may not be recommended, but trimming and tidying of lawns and hard surface areas will still be done.
LAWN FERTILIZING
A beautiful healthy lawn can be achieved by fertilizing your lawn. Horticare Landscaping offers traditional or organic fertilizers to meet your lawns needs and requirements. Lawn fertilizer is applied four times per season; spring, early summer, late summer, and fall. Our traditional lawn fertilizer contains a blend of Nitrogen, Phosphorus, and Potassium to meet the lawns requirements and is applied using a slow and quick release technology to administer the essential nutrients. Our organic fertilizer is derived from all-natural sources such as; bone meal, blood meal, kelp, fish emulsion, and manure, etc. Fertilizers reduce the establishment of weeds, improves lawn growth, and helps fill in bare patchy spots.
AERATION
Aeration encourages the health of your lawn, reduces thatch buildup and improves the infiltration of air, water and nutrients, by encouraging deeper roots and creating an environment where grass seed can have direct contact with the soil. Aeration also reduces soil compaction and improves fertilizer uptake and use. We recommend getting your lawn aerated once per season, ideally in the spring.
GRUB CONTROL
White grubs are the larval stage of various beetles. They burrow into the soil to feed on grass roots causing grass to turn brown and die off. If feeding is severe, grubs can kill large areas of your lawn. As the grubs continue to grow and feed, the damaged areas become large brown areas and animals such as skunks and raccoons may start digging up the lawn while feeding on white grubs.
To prevent or limit the damage to your lawn, a natural treatment of Nematodes can be applied in late summer or early fall, when white grubs are most vulnerable. This treatment is natures best way of eliminating these pests. Nematodes are harmless to humans, animals, and plants, but they will aggressively pursue grubs.
DETHATCHING
Dethatching your lawn is performed to allow for the absorption of water, fertilizer and oxygen to promote healthy roots and growth in turf. Dethatching would be done on lawns with a substantial layer of thatch.
TOPDRESSING AND OVERSEEDING
Every year, portions of your lawn may deteriorate due to salt, winter damage, insect damage, drought, etc. Topdressing and over-seeding is the process of adding more grass seed and garden soil to your lawn to increase the density of turf, fill in those bare spots, improve grass varieties, and assist in crowding out weeds. It will help your lawn to resist diseases, insects and drought. It is ideal for the germination of new seeding to have good contact with soil. Adding soil and compost mixtures to your lawn will improve soil conditions, help with nutrient uptake, improve lawn color, and help with seed germination.
FALL CLEAN UP
Each fall all deciduous trees and shrubs drop their leaves. Make sure your lawn and gardens are prepared for winter by giving you property the thorough fall cleanup it deserves. We will clean leaves from your lawn, flowerbeds, and hard surface areas, leaving your property looking tidy and ready for winter. This service begins the first week of October and ends in mid-November.
The above services are offered seasonally or at any time when requested. We also do vacationing requests.
